Mr. Jones & Me

Mr. Jones & Me

Pairs Well With… “Mr. Jones” by Counting Crows

Rolling on only four hours of sleep after a long (and winning) evening of football the night before, I boarded an early ass flight to Denver to see my favorite band: Counting Crows.  Choosing between two loves of my life, the Vikings (first home game at the new stadium) and Counting Crows (outdoor concert at Red Rocks) didn’t seem fair and I decided I needed to make both events work, despite how exhausting those 48 hours of fun could be.  Somehow, I managed to a) land an entire row to myself on the sold out flight to Denver, sprawl out and nap and b) be recognized as “the girl with the shoe boots on from the Vikings game” the night prior.  I guess that’s what happens when your shoe game is on point.  Anyway…

Anyone who knows me well knows the passion I have for music.  Music is a beautiful artistry that brings people together and creates bonds.  Music is able to touch us deeply, help us relate, provide us relief when we’re coping and bring joy into our lives.  It is personal and emotional and allows us to create memorable associations that we carry with us for a lifetime.

I have spent a good portion of my career in Entertainment Marketing working with artists whom I admire and hearing their stories of musical influence and performance.  It’s been a privilege to work with some of the best in the business.  Even more exciting is when you get to see your favorites in their element: on stage.

Pairs Well With… Football + Friends + Fall

NOW FEATURING:

  • Cheeseburger Bites
  • Baked Fried Pickles
  • Hot Dish on a Stick

This weekend was a football trifecta for me: the Gophers, the Cyclones, and the Minnesota Vikings.  I attended my first Gophers game on a nice, sunny Saturday afternoon.  For as many times as I’d been to TCF Bank Stadium to watch the Vikings, I’d never watched a college game here.  It was amazing, not to mention the score was 58-28, something that doesn’t often happen in college football!

Fall Into Forgiveness: The 1,000 Mile Roadtrip

Fall Into Forgiveness: The 1,000 Mile Roadtrip

Pairs Well With…”Forget what hurt you, but never forget what it taught you.”

Fall is a time of change and transition. It’s a good time to declutter, purge and start fresh. Sometimes things, even life, need a good overhaul once in a while. Because of the feeling that fall brings, it is easily my favorite time of year.

Last week, with Labor Day right around the corner, I decided I was going to purge my life of negativity or anything that even remotely looked like a Lifetime movie.  It’s got to go. See ya. That sh*t is not for me.  I need to make room for more important things like what my next career move is and what I will wear for my first home game in the new Vikings stadium.  Naturally, the things that matter.

The thing about switching it up is, you have to be willing to make moves.  Actually, you have to be willing to move.

So, I moved – at about 75 mph for 1,000 miles over five days in an effort to hit reset through a trip I hadn’t really planned on taking. As I hit the road, I found a larger purpose to the trip that I hadn’t anticipated.

Dear Future Self…

Dear Future Self…

Pairs Well With… “Maybe the journey isn’t so much about becoming anything.  Maybe it’s about un-becoming everything that isn’t really you so you can be who you were meant to be in the first place.” – Unknown

Dear Future Self,

Hey Firecracker, how’s it going?  I know we haven’t been properly introduced, and I’m sure we’ll cross paths at some point, but now is a good time for me to say hello.

I’ve been thinking about you and life and wanted to reach out.  The thing about life is, you never know where it’s going to take you, who you’ll meet and where you’ll be in the next phase of it – but I think you know all this already.  I can only imagine what you’re going to be like.  If you’re anything like me today, you work so hard, you love so hard, you dance your way through life so seamlessly. You’re Unstoppable.  It’s impossible not to see endless possibilities lying ahead waiting for you.  I anticipate you’re probably still vibrant, vivacious, clever and curious.  Don’t quit those things.  You probably still tell really bad jokes.  Now might be a good time to curb those.
