The Flirtini Martini

Pairs Well With… Sunshine + Summer + A Patio

In my opinion, everyone needs a mid-week martini lunch once in a while, and if you’re a female, to be a “lady who lunches” when the mood strikes.  As a kickoff to summer fun in Minneapolis, I invited my sister over to enjoy a sunny lunch on my patio with one of my favorite summer drinks: The Flirtini.

With the abundance of warm weather and sunshine, it seems only appropriate to start thinking of summer cocktailing, and those fun summer parties that come with it. Every now and again, I long for a good summery drink I can sip and savor on my deck while reading a page turner.

The Flirtini is a great summer adult beverage, and also a great choice to make for a ladies night in, or when out on a date. It’s super easy, quick and convenient to make at home since it only requires three ingredients, cherries optional!

Flirtini Cocktail Ingredients Martini

Ingredients: (per martini)
1 oz. vodka of choice
2 oz. champagne of choice (I prefer Brut for a less sweet drink. Prefer sweet drinks? Go with a Prosecco.)
2 oz. Pineapple Orange Juice
Maraschino Cherries (optional garnish)

Put a handful of ice into shaker. Pour in portions of vodka and juice. Shake well. Pour into martini glass.

Penguin Shaker Martini Glass Cocktail

Place maraschino cherry in bottom of martini glass. Fill glass with combined cocktail mixture.

Top martini glass to the brim with champagne.  It’s that easy breezy.

Grab your book, find your sunshine and enjoy this summertime favorite!
